Meg Van Hale is a New Zealand contemporary jeweller and artist, living and working in Ōtepoti, Dunedin. In 2017 she completed her Bachelor’s Degree with Honours at the Dunedin School of Art, majoring in Jewellery and Metalsmithing.
She is interested in themes of the everyday, symbols and dreams; lost and forgotten moments.
The overlooked beauty in the everyday inspires adornment that elevates information otherwise stored away in our subconscious. These physical objects offer a reconciliation of materiality and imagination. Van Hale makes jewellery that strengthens the wearers sense of self; adornment as armor, talismans and keepsakes.
