Mary Thompson

I call my style “casual realism” and for landscapes I aim to quickly capture the essence of a scene using acrylic paint. I enjoy discovering what I call “found compositions” rather than manipulating the scene and objects. I have been painting and drawing for many years and so, along with my interests in birds and conservation, my art is part of my interpreting the natural world. I am a member of the Otago Art Society and regularly contribute to exhibitions.
