As a Catlins artist, my work is very much influenced by my wider environment. To capture the glowing colours of the fruit, vegetables, and flowers, I have used coloured pencil on dark-painted wooden panels. The name I have coined for this form of mixed media is ‘pencil painting’.

As well as exhibiting, I also teach art, and illustrate. My published illustrations have appeared in a wide range of children’s books and educational material.
