New works by Robert P West

[A superficial or deceptively attractive appearance display or effect]

“Still waters run deep” my mother would say and “Don’t judge a book by its cover”.

That things are not always as they first appear is obvious perhaps.  Something that barely requires saying.

Picking and scratching at the surface, “for God’s sake, let it lie. Let it go. Why can’t you just enjoy it for what it is?

Picked off the corner of the bench exposed MDF revealing just how thin veneer is.

I hope you enjoy these pictures, as I enjoyed making them.

Robert studied art at Leeds Polytechnic, West Yorkshire, and Camberwell College of Art and Design, London.
